With his country, he won the 2021 Copa América and the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The 2021 Copa América victory led Argentina to a spot in the 2022 Finalissima, where Messi was the winning captain.

He joined the youth team at Newell's Old Boys and then moved to Spain to join the Barcelona’s youth academy. Messi made his professional debut for Barcelona in 2003 at the age of 16. He quickly became one of the best players in the world, and he helped Barcelona win numerous trophies. Messi is a diminutive player, but he is incredibly skilled and has a powerful shot. He is also a gifted passer and dribbler. He is one of the most prolific goal scorers in history, and he has scored over 700 goals for club and country.
