A fresh face amongst golf's major winners

A week ago, on July 23rd 2023, US professional golfer Brian Harman won the 2023 British Open Championship in emphatic fashion. Harman is a PGA professional from Savannah, Georgia. He turned pro in 2009 and has since won three tour events, including the Open result.  He has made 238 out of 346 possible cuts on tour, had 26 Top 5 finishes, and made over $30 million in prize money. Curiously, he is described as a right-handed golfer who plays left-handed. He is known for his solid ball-striking and his ability to grind out rounds. He is also a very good putter, which has helped him to win several tournaments. Harman is a quiet and unassuming player who does not get a lot of attention. However, he is a very talented golfer who has quietly established himself as one of the best players on the PGA Tour.

Here are some of Harman's strengths as a golfer: Solid ball-striking: Harman is a very good ball-striker, both off the tee and with his irons. He has the ability to hit the ball long and straight, which is essential for success on the PGA Tour. Putting: Harman is also a very good putter. He has a smooth stroke and a great feel for the greens. This has helped him to win several tournaments, including the British Open. Mental toughness: Harman is a very mentally tough player. He is able to stay calm under pressure and grind out rounds, even when he is not playing his best. This has helped him to achieve success on the PGA Tour. Here are some of Harman's weaknesses as a golfer: Lack of distance: Harman is not the longest hitter on the PGA Tour. This can sometimes be a disadvantage, especially on courses that are long and demanding. Inconsistency: Harman can be inconsistent at times. He has the ability to play great golf, but he can also make some mistakes that cost him tournaments. Lack of major championships was a weakness, until today.

Overall, Brian Harman is a very talented golfer who has quietly established himself as one of the best players on the PGA Tour and he will be looking to add to his trophy case in the years to come.
